 If your riding with a treeless saddle, you will want to have a quality saddle pad to go underneath it. The best treeless saddle pads offer cushioning, support, and a proper fit to ensure your horse will be comfortable. Ideally, they should have shock-absorbing foam, silicone, or felt inserts to improve performance and be able to adjust shims to get the correct balance and comfort for your horse.
​Your saddle pad is an important element for saddle fit. The spine and loin must be protected and pressure points avoided. The rider must understand that the musculoskeletal system of the horse transforms throughout a lifetime. Age, exercise and seasonal changes will change saddle fit.

Ghost Treeless Pads

Ghost Treeless pads, each shaped to fit under your choice of Ghost saddle are an excellent pad for an excellent price! Offering a clear spine channel and easy open pockets which house quality foam inserts (included) Done in your choice of colours and lining.

The top of the pad comes standard in a lovely airshell fabric that is hard wearing and allows the pad to breath. You can also choose to upgrade your top material to suede or nubuck or a very smart finish. 

On the underside we have a few options available from:
  • Natural wool - made from shaved sheep fleece.
  • Medically tanned sheepskin (one of the best pad materials for the horse second only to deer skin!) breathable, temperature regulating, anti bacterial, hard wearing, and soft and comfortable for your horse.
  • Cotton which is great with sheep skin or shaved wool panels to reduce bulk under your leg. 
  • Furr which is a synthetic fabric that is easily to keep clean. 
  • Sympanova is available although some horses can react to this fabric.

Ghost pads come in a range of colours from classic black & brown, through to eye catching red, blue, navy, beige and sometimes special colours like fuscia/lilac! You can also have the edge piping done in a different colour to add a touch of flair to a neutral colour, or even have your pad stiched in a pattern like diamond in a contrasting colour.

This Saddle Pad comes standard with shaved wool under and airshell fabric top. Designed to fit all the ghost models excluding the western skirt, features a nice deep length to reduce girth strap pinching and rubbing. Ghost Endurance Pad $200
Designed to fit all short flap model Ghost saddles, this Pad has easy open pockets with foam panels for spinal clearance allowing additional shimming to fit your horse. Comes standard with shaved wool under and airshell top in your choice of colours. 
Dress it up buy adding sheepskin panels or a contrasting piping colour to match your saddle the choice is yours. 
Ghost Model Pad $220
These pads are specially made to fit your choice of ghost saddle weather its the flamenco or the Italy, model pads are made to fit perfectly to your choice of saddle. Contoured to allow for the wither these pads have easy access pockets that come with standard 1 cm foam panels which can be shimmed to get the right fit. The Model pad comes standard in Airshell and wool underside, this can be upgraded at your request. 

Edix Saddle Pads

The EDIX saddle pads are through their construction an addition on the pressure distributing materials of any treeless saddle and will give just that extra more softness and comfort to your horse between a treed saddle and your horse! Also the top pockets allow to correct the balance of your treeless and in the same way, but this should be temporarily correct the fit of your treed saddle.
The EDIX saddle pads are anatomically shaped, standard performed with 8 pockets and equipped with the correct inlays provide further support of FREE space for the function of the spine. An EDIX saddle provides of itself already this free space, but by using a EDIX saddle pad, with or without extra inlays, this space will be increased.
We advise you to follow the advice of your EDIX saddle fitter. It is depending on so many aspects. In only a few cases, the horse is in such a great muscle condition and the rider has a perfect independent and balanced seat, it will be possible to have a simple cotton saddle pad underneath your treeless saddle. But most of all saddle fits, we see a more comfortable horse when your saddle is supported by a special EDIX saddle pad.
Because we also have many saddle fitters in the EDIX saddle fitters team who work with treed saddles, we have gained the experience that when we place an EDIX saddle pad under a treed saddle, improved results in the movement and therefore the comfort of your horse are shown.
An EDIX saddles pad, is performed with 8 pockets where inlays and shims can be added depending on your horses confirmation. The EDIX saddle pads are all made of high quality Merino sheepskin, Cotton Mix or Synthetic wool combined with a felt or foam base. Anatomically shaped making sure it will be a good fit and by that supportive to fitting of your saddle.
So therefore EDIX will always advise to use a special EDIX saddle pad underneath any saddle. For the simple fact we see very good results when combined
Perhaps at first you will feel more up your horse, which some riders experience as less close contact, but at EDIX we believe that the close contact feeling is created when your saddle allow you to perfectly feel the movement of your horse and your saddle offers to participate in that movement. Than this inch of extra soft material between you and your horses does not interferes at all
So our EDIX official saddle fitters can determine and advice you what saddle pad will be the best fit for your horse and saddle and will also advice you what kind of inlays – shims can be added to give that extra support to your saddle and extra comfort for your horse.

EDIX ROUNDSKIRT FELT PAD $500
These pads are a perfect alternative for the EDIX merino sheepskin round skirt pads, as they help to prevent sliding on very round horses.
These bright decorative finished felt saddle pads are made of an original high quality wool felt and the abrasive part is made of sturdy cow leather.
The pad is equipped with an EDIX 8- pocket system and is included with felt inlays for the top pockets. BUT as an expectation in the EDIX assortment, where all inlays are included, in this pad there is no felt included for the long inlays. We advise if needed to oder along this pad an inlay of thick or thin 3 mesh. The saddlepad distributes saddlepressure already due it is made of wool felt. Using another material of inlay will enhance the pressure distribution significantly.
