Leather Choices for the Ghost Saddle
Ghost saddles offer a wide range of leathers (and synthetics) to choose from. With different zones Ghost can create you a truely unique and one off saddle if you so desire!
Each saddle is composed of 'zones' which means you can customize each zone to your taste. Zones consist of the saddle flaps, saddle seat, pommel, and knee blocks. The Ghost Barocco saddle even has five zones with the inlay included!
For an additional fee of $40 you can also have your saddles base and panels in your choice of leathers.
Please note variations can occur from batch to batch with leather, especially browns. Plus screen settings can also alter colours, please keep this in mind.

Smooth Leathers
Smooth, firm and easy to maintain, the smooth leather has a stiffer and more hefty feel to it, and does not scratch easily. It is similar to what most traditional saddles are made from. It can be cleaned with a damp cloth, glycerin soap and kept in top condition with a beeswax type product. If you are concerned about scratches/marks and general wear and tear, smooth leather can be an excellent choice. We now have a few more colour options of whites/greys/browns/reds available for smooth leather too!

Julia Luxury Smooth Leather
The Julia range offers 4 different shades of vegetable tanned high quality Italian leather. These are smooth leathers. A beautiful upgrade for your saddle, available for an extra $150.00.

Oiled Nubuck
Oiled Nubuck is a popular choice. It is nubuck leather that has had an oil/grease applied and as a result has a buttery supple feel. Oiled Nubuck does scratch however, but this is usually easily reversed with a wipe over with bit of protective product. Cleaning is straightforward as all that is required is a damp cloth and use of an oil or protective product.

Nubuck Leather
Nubuck is similar to suede in appearance and feel. It is leather that has been sanded or buffed on the outside to give a 'nap' of short fibres. It is soft to the touch but does scratch. It also eventually smooths and shines away where there is contact. Nubuck has a soft, cushioning feel, so is a nice choice for seats and knee blocks.

Micropell - Smooth Imitation Leather
Micropell is a synthetic smooth leather alternative. Easy care and with a nice heft to it. Micropell wears well and does not scratch easily. Great combined with Lorica for a vegan saddle, or to simply add a pop of colour to your saddle! Many shades are available to accent the knee blocks, pommel, seat etc.

Colorful Saddles
For those who fancy something a little different and unique Ghost often has many different synthetic colours available. Most at no additional charge! If you are interested in a colorful saddle, do let us know and we can send you some images of the currently available shades and synthetic leathers. These can be combined with any of our other leathers for a bit of colour pop! Choices often available in our lorica/suede like materials along with smooth type leathers.
Lorica Imitation Nubuck Leather
Lorica is a synthetic soft touch suede like material. It is strong, with a good nap or grip, which makes it very popular for seats and knee rolls. Lorica is durable, and easy to clean too, with a damp cloth often being all that is required. It is popular for childrens saddles, and seats made from Lorica seem to be even softer and cushier. Not just for those wanting a vegan saddle!

Sheepskin
Creates a breathable and softer seat fabric. Sheepskin is available in a natural coloured cream/beige colour (being natural shades do vary ) with a short nap look. These are available on your seat at the same price. For a wilder look there are unique eco tanned long haired sheepskins available (like our fur saddle Maremma) these are available in a range of skins and come at an additional price. Very cushy and the long fur molds to your shape, plus a gentle groom with a cat brush has them looking like new! There is also the option of having a seat saver made from either type sheepskin for an additional price.
