Custom Design Options for your Ghost saddle
Ghost is one of the few treeless brands that allows you to customize and personalize your saddle, often at no extra charge! Please look through the options below, and if something catches your eye, or if you have a special request, let us know and we will see what Ghost can do for you!
Reinforced Pommel + $20
|
Available is a metal arch inlay for the Ghost pommels, now hidden inside the visible pommel (you won't see the metal) or inside the hidden pommel.
The visible reinforced metal arch helps create a more rigid pommel, providing more lift and clearance over the withers, which is proving excellent for narrow built and higher withered horses. You can have a hidden pommel reinforced too which will provide more structure and support for horses with high withers, but can still be bent wider using man power if you need for a wider horse. Do note the standard/visible reinforced pommel will no longer flex to accommodate table top horses. |
Tooling & StitchingCurrently available at no extra charge is the option to have a lovely tooled or embossed pattern on your saddle seat of choice. This can look great on the Quevis or Quilty saddles, especially when combined with fenders! Also available is the option to have the saddle panel stitching continue and frame the whole panel, which also adds to the look.

Custom Base & Panels $40For an additional $40 the Ghost Cantle Base (the main part under the rear seat) can also be crafted in your choice of leather/colour. Included in the price is your choose of panel finishing too. Panels can be lined in sympanova, wool or lorica, with a matching leather lining on top. Very classy!

Extra D Rings $10 a pairGhost saddles come standard with a set of stainless steel D Rings by the pommel (1 per side, upper d ring in photo) and 1 rear pair of d rings (plus 1 single d ring behind the cantle for securing a saddle pad) Additional D Rings are usually added at the front below the original pair (as seen in this photo.) You can also have another rear set of d rings added too.

Longer/Shorter FlapsFor those taller or shorter riders who would prefer a different length 'flap' Ghost can tailor the flap to your preference. Shown is a Quevis & Quilty with a 5cm longer flap. The Dressage saddles can also have their flap lengthened, and for the petite ladies you can also have the flap shortened, for models like the Barocco.

Lowered Cantle or Higher CantleFor those who may have trouble dismounting due to pain or certain conditions, the cantle of the Ghost can also be lowered slightly. For those who want an even deeper, more secure seat the cantle can also be raised. Currently no additional charge for this.

Base Panel Options $160 - $220 +
|
You can purchase additional panels for your GHOST saddle which is very handy if you are riding different shaped horses or doing different disciplines. Ghost Saddles usually come standard with the Italy style panels shown along the top row, these are our thickest, firmest, best pressure distributing panels, and can either be closed or have an opening for additional shims etc.
Many prefer the velcro opening panels because that makes it easy to shim for rider balance, but the closed panels do have a neat look. For most people we look at ordering the standard panel thickness, which is a thin layer of formo (a stiff white/grey material) a layer of 2 or 2.5 cm blue foam with excellent weight distribution and response-time properties (which remain at all operation temps) and a single layer of a softer, shape-forming black foam. The thin panels don't have any of the soft foam and are best for riders under 55kg or who prefer a bareback pad feel (and reduce stirrup use accordingly) or who use a fairly substantial treeless pad and need to reduce thickness. The thick panels have a second layer of the soft foam and are recommended for riders over 82kg or those over 75kg competing in endurance. Remember it's possible to modify the panel inserts with the velcro opening panels, not with the closed panels. And the above is a "general" idea, we can further modify a few of the materials to create a slightly slimmer panel, while still offering excellent weight distribution. For those who have perhaps purchased older model Ghost saddles second hand, upgrading to the latest panels with new foams is an excellent idea. The new foams are shown in the picture above, they are blue, with a layer or wrapping of black foam, and often have a layer of white/grey formo, this combination gives the best pressure distribution and is recommended for most riders, especially heavier riders, or those doing endurance. Otherwise we can supply a layer of the stiff 'formo' which you can slide inside the top of your existing panel foams, to provide better weight distribution. You can also choose to have your panels lined in wool or lorica, and the top colour matched to your saddle as shown in the picture on the bottom right. This matching often incurs a small additional fee. The standard is sympanova lined panels, done in black. |
